Dreaded Employee Benefits Renewals? We have an answer for that!


Are your Renewals scary? There’s a plan design for that!

I'm sure everyone wants to save money and get the best value for their dollar?
Our 12 Tips for plan re-design and cost containment for future claims will be the trick!
Picking up and moving the group to another insurance company is not always the answer. 
  1. Review Reimbursement drug claims and using a Drug card
  2. Implement mandatory generic substitution under the drug plan and look at pharmacy coupons that are available
  3. Combine the Paramedical or Specialist maximum if many specialists are being used
  4. Consider decreasing the Dental recall frequency from 6 months to 9 or 12 months
  5. For dental consider reducing scaling availability to 4-8 units only
  6. Review combining Dental maximums
  7. Consider grouping the employees to A & B
  8. Offering more restricted benefits for new employees
  9. Offer fluoride for children only or use an older dental fee guide
  10. If you have high turnover, offer only tiered dental maximums
  11. Consider longer employee waiting periods
  12. And drug maximums

And remember when you initially start on a plan the employees are going to use it a lot in the first year, because they haven't had a plan.  So, it takes having an Advisor to offer Lunch & Learns that enable employees not to abuse the plan that you do put in place!

Corporate owned insurance has huge tax advantages

What Life insurance has tax advantages for you? How?

There are certain insurance policies that can be held by the corporation. Wow, that's a huge tax advantage right away! Why? Life insurance is paid with less expensive money (corporations have lower tax rate than personal tax rates) and that it is tax sheltered meaning you don't pay tax on it when it grows in value plus it gets paid out tax free to the beneficiaries. So, there's an advantage of 

  1. how you pay the premiums from a tax advantage
  2. how the money grows in the policy tax free

Calling all Daycare providers!! Sometimes bad things happen to good people. But the outcome can be good!

I am a single mom of 3 boys and raising my children, I started day care 20 years ago. I have been caring for many children for years, but I NEVER expected the following to happen to me. 

I received a phone call late in the afternoon from one of my day care moms telling me her 11 year old son had gone to the school counselor and told the counselor I had abused him, the other children in day care, and my own 4 year old son and the counselor had called the Dept. of Human Services to report me for abuse. The mother told me she didn't believe what was being said but the school made it very clear to her that if she didn't pull her kids out of my day care immediately they would come after her for not protecting her children! I was totally shocked and panicked! I had cared for these children in my day care for 8 years and considered their mom one of my best friends.

The first thing I did was call LegalShield. Friday was a holiday. It was 4:55 pm so attorneys that had been in the office were gone but I was told me that an e-mail would be sent to the attorneys and I would receive a phone call first thing Monday morning. My youngest is only 4 years old and I'm raising him 100% on my own. My biggest fear was the state would knock on my door and take him away from me pending this investigation. I was constantly looking over my shoulder, I was unable to sleep well and my stress level was through the roof. When I shared this with my attorney, her reply was, "I want you to sleep and let me stay up and worry about this, that's my job." And you know what?? When I found myself worrying, I would remember her words and I would relax knowing I had the best on my side.

I was questioned by the investigator in my attorney’s office, who put up with no nonsense from the questions being asked. She put her foot down, making him stay within his legal boundaries. Without legal representation I wouldn’t have known what I should/shouldn't answer.

I received a call from my attorney telling me I had been cleared of all charges. She was as happy and excited to tell me, as I was to hear it. For 3 months I had been holding my breath and at that moment I felt the air start to fill my lungs again and tears filled my eyes. When I thanked her and told her she had just given me my life back she said, "You always had your life, I just held your hand until you knew it." I asked her what I could do as a thank you and she said, "You just did it." I received quality care that I doubt the rich and famous get, and I got it for $26 a month! My attorney isn't just an attorney, she has a true passion.

Anyone working with children needs this membership! My life was turned upside down by an 11-year-old telling lies. I can't imagine the mental stress or the potential outcome without LegalShield! You don't have to be on your own! Can this happen to you?
